Published: October 08, 2013
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that 2012 Norwegian Cup winners Hodd have offered an additional two - year contract to former Nigeria youth - teamer Akeem Latifu.
The 23 - year - old right back was one of the first names on Lars Nilsen’s team-sheet before his loan move to Premier League campaigners Aalesund in August.
While at AaFK, Latifu has also impressed the hierarchy, starting 6 out of a possible 8 games.
For the time being, there is a two - way battle to keep hold of the Port Harcourt born defender.
Aalesund have scheduled a meeting at the end of October with Atta Aneke, the agent of Akeem Latifu, to discuss the modalities for buying the player’s contract from Hodd.
Should the management of the Ulsteinvik based outfit fail to sanction his move to the Tangoshirt, the player is likely to see out the final one year of his contract and leave as a free agent on expiration.
