Published: December 12, 2013
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that there is an ongoing tussle between Football Academy, Abuja and the Lagos State Government over the ownership of Nigeria Under 17 international Dele Alampasu.
And this may pull the plug on a potential transfer to Europe by the 16 - year - old in future as interested suitors might not know the legitimate club to do business with.
Abuja based grassroots team, Football Academy claim Dele Alampasu’s economic rights belong to them having signed a four - year deal with the club before the start of the World Cup and he even traveled several times to Europe with the squad to participate in youth tourneys.
On the other hand, Lagos State Festival Team stress that the Nigeria youth - teamer was not properly cleared by Football Academy Abuja when they spotted him.
Since Alampasu returned from United Arab Emirates, where he was chosen as the best goalie of the tournament, he has refused to rejoin FAA as Lagos State insist he is their man.
Now Football Academy Abuja have threatened to report Lagos Festival Team to local regulators, Nigeria Football Federation if Dele Alampasu fails to return to the capital in the coming days.
