Published: January 21, 2014
Lazio forward Sani Emmanuel has received good news from doctors in Paris over a heel tendon injury that could have been operated on.
It was earlier feared that the Golden Ball winner at the 2009 Fifa Under 17 World Cup would have to undergo a surgical procedure but a scan now shows that the treatment should be conservative.
“Another specialist did some scans and he found out the problem. I have already started the treatment and by next week I will start running.
“There is a bone touching the Achilles tendon whenever I am running.
“There is a machine the doctors are using to make it smooth and I am much better now,” says Sani Emmanuel to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The Nigeria youth - teamer is scheduled to return to Rome in the next 24 hours.
Emmanuel, whose contract with the Biancocelesti expires in June 2014, has not played a single game this season as a result of the ailment.
