Exclusive : Ex Kilmarnock Defender Papa Idris Signs For Gombe United
Published: January 22, 2014
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Kilmarnock of Scotland centre back and Super Eagles stopper Idris Papa has moved to Gombe United.
He will re-unite with two of his former Kaduna United teammates in Emmanuel Bivan who joined the desert scorpions from champions Kano Pillars and Alfred Mathias who also moved to Gombe after been released mid way through last season at Kaduna United.
Papa Idris will also team up with the coach who converted him to a centre back from his left full back role in Maurice Cooreman during their time at Kaduna United.
Minders from Idris Camp revealed that the lure of working with the Belgian was what pulled Idris Papa to Gombe ahead of other clubs in the NPFL.
Other teams showed an interest in his services after his full recovery from the knee surgery that lead to his contract termination by Kilmarnock.
