Odemwingie Reveals Stoke City Wanted Him Last Summer
Published: March 25, 2014
Peter Odemwingie has let the cat out of the bag after he revealed that Stoke City manager Mark Hughes was interested in his acquisition last summer before he signed on the dotted line for Cardiff City.
He spent less than 5 months at Cardiff prior to his transfer to the Potters in the winter transfer market on a one - and - a - half year deal.
“The manager knew what he was looking for because he tried to bring me last summer.
“Things didn’t go well for me in Cardiff. I was switched about in the team, sometimes as a striker and sometimes as a winger.
“It was difficult to adapt there because it is not a team that has been in the Premier League before,” Odemwingie told express.co.uk.
The Nigeria international has justified the investment made by Stoke City with 4 goals in his first 8 Premier League games.
