Akide Praises Ambassador Giwa
Published: April 23, 2014
Giwa FC defender Ibrahim Akide has praised the impact of club financier Ambassador Giwa for the part he played in the 1-0 win at FC Taraba.
Supporters of the Jos team have been critical of the side in recent times, but the football loving owner has never lost hope in his wards.
“Ambassador Giwa is a motivator and a fantastic man, he has helped us a lot,” Akide told reporters.
“You can’t describe it, we thank him for always coming to cheer us, and we’ll try our best not to let him down."
Akide conceded that the road to achieving a good placing at the end of the season will be harder with the club’s recent impressive form.
“It’s too early to say that we’re going to compete for a continental spot, we know the task is hard, but we’re on our way.
“We will try our best to go in and play like we always do, but one thing for sure is that God is the source of our achievement,” he said.
“We have to think about today’s game against Akwa United first, and we’ll be ready for other teams.”
On his dream club in future, the uncompromising libero says his choice is Manchester United.
“As a young defender, my burning desire is to don the jersey of Manchester United. I believe God will help me actualize my ambition.”
