Exclusive: Oke Akpoveta Denies Revan Contract Has Been Terminated
Published: May 09, 2014
Revan Baku forward Oke Akpoveta has quickly dismissed reports in the Azerbaijani media that his contract with the Premier League side has been terminated.
It was claimed that the ex Brondby man departed the capital outfit with the authorization of management but has refused to return.
“The club bought me a ticket to Denmark valid from Wednesday to Sunday last week. I had a little injury so I went to see my doctor.
“I was supposed to return to Baku last Sunday but I had an appointment with the doctor three days ago.
“I have done a scan and I was told I can only resume training in the next two to three weeks.
“The Vice - President of Revan is aware and as soon as the club send me a return ticket, I will return to Azerbaijan,” Oke Akpoveta told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation from Denmark.
Since the contract of Oke Akpoveta expires at the end of the season, he might have played his last game for Revan as the league is set to end exactly one week from now.
Revan Baku have failed to credit the bank account of Oke Akoveta with his salary for the month of March, thought to be around $10,000.
