Published: June 26, 2014
Stephen Keshi pleaded ignorance when he was questioned at a press conference after the Argentina - Nigeria match up on the failure of the national team to qualify for the last 16 of the World Cup before they managed that on Wednesday.
Indeed, the last time the Super Eagles progressed to the second round of the showpiece event was at France 98 on the back of their two wins in the group phase against Spain and Bulgaria.
“ I do not know these things you have mentioned. I only see when they happen. I’m honored, I’m glad we’re doing it this way.
“Just want to thank the players, fans, the press. That’s it,” says Stephen Keshi.
In preparation for the second round clash against France, the Super Eagles, who returned to base yesterday, will train this evening, starting from 5 pm local time.
