Exclusive : Sevilla Sporting Director, Monchi Mum On Aliyu Abubakar Link
Published: September 05, 2014
Representatives of Aliyu Abubakar have claimed they have opened talks with Spanish side Sevilla on a contract for the Muntunchi Football Academy defender.
The Nigeria Under 20 international had earlier been proposed to Belgium clubs Anderlecht, Club Brugge and Racing Genk, but it now appears the trio have locked up his case in the drawer.
The charismatic Sporting Director of Sevilla, Ramon Rodriguez (Monchi ) did not confirm or deny speculations linking the Europa League winners with a move for Aliyu Abubaka, saying he is not on seat at the moment.
“I am not in Seville, I am on holidays with my family. I don’t know if this player (Aliyu Abubakar) is in Seville,” Monchi told allnigeriasoccer.com.
It is thought that Sevilla will sign Aliyu Abubakar on loan from his nursery club, should they decide to offer him a contract when talks are concluded.
