West Brom Striker Brown Ideye Fires Back At Critics
Published: November 12, 2014
Nigeria international Brown Ideye has stressed that he will not depart West Brom in the near future despite criticisms from supporters on social media.
The ex Dynamo Kiev star is yet to score for the Baggies in the Premier League since they paid £9 million for his signature back in July.
The 26 - year - old has fallen down the pecking order of strikers at the club, having failed to make the 18 - man squad for the last two games.
“I have found it difficult but people can’t criticise, pull me down or have a gun at my head for not playing,” Ideye told Telegraph UK
“A lot of people are writing on my Instagram and Twitter page saying ‘you’re s***’ or ‘you’re not worth the money’. I don’t think that is fair, how can you criticise somebody who has not been playing?
“I feel sad about it, everybody wants to play. I want to prove myself but I can’t do that on the bench or when I’m not even in the 18.
“For two games I’ve been out the team and if you ask me ‘what’s the problem?’ I don’t know. I have been good, I have been training every day.
“But this will make me stronger and makes me want to bounce back as quickly as possible.
“I have been doing it since the first club I played for in Europe and I have never been a flop. You can ask all the clubs I have played at. I have been one of the best in the club so I don’t think I will have problems here.”
Brown Ideye will he hoping to maintain his fitness when he features in a friendly against Leicester City on Wednesday.
