It was wrongly reported that Ezekiel was to earn $15.2 million in the four - year deal with the Qatar Stars League side, and Standard Liege were credited with the sum of $10.8 million for agreeing to do business with their Asian counterparts.
Now, it has come to light that Al Arabi paid 5.5 million Euros to secure the signature of the 21 - year - old this summer.
The deal that took Imoh Ezekiel to Al Arabi was brokered by influential Israeli agent Dudu Dahan in collaboration with Qatar Federation licensed agent Lemsagam Abdullah.
Lemsagam Abdullah.was also involved in the transfer of Nigeria international Kalu Uche to another Qatari club El Jaish in 2013.
Imoh Ezekiel has five goals to his name after playing ten games in the Qatar Stars League.
He has been in the international wilderness for the past eight months.
