Red Star Belgrade Pressing Ahead With Plan To Sign Gbolahan Salami On Loan
Published: January 08, 2015
Serbia champions Red Star Belgrade are pressing ahead with their plan to sign Super Eagles striker Gbolahan Salami, 23.
But due to lack of funds in the transfer kitty, the former European champions intend to sign him on a temporary basis from nursery team, Fame Academy, who own his economic rights.
Serbian journalist Dejan Stankovic of Mozzart Sport told allnigeriasoccer.com : “Red Star general director Zvezdan Terziä† said Salami is coming on loan.
“No transfer fee will be paid. The club have to decide on or before 15th of May if they want to buy him for US$250,000. ”
If Gbolahan Salami’s minders accept this offer, the Nigeria international will travel to Serbia after the exhibition games against Ivory Coast and Sudan.
Last season, strikers Abiola Dauda and Ifeanyi Onyilo were on the books of Red Star Belgrade.
