Kingsley Sokari Dedicates Champions League Goal To Patient Enyimba Fans
Published: February 15, 2015
Enyimba midfielder Kingsley Sokari has confessed that the 3 - 0 win over Buffles du Borgou FC of Benin Republic in the CAF Champions League on Sunday was not a stroll in the park.
The two - time African champions were leading 1 - 0 until the 83rd minute when the Super Eagle doubled the advantage before Nigeria Under 23 international Peter Onyekachi added more gloss to the scoreline with his first ever Champions League goal in the 90th minute.
“The game was not an easy game because these unknown clubs are very dangerous. We put in a lot of strength, we did everything to win the game 3 - 0, ” says Kingsley Sokari to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“We worked hard, we had to concentrate when the scoreline was 1 - 0. I am dedicating this goal to Enyimba supporters, they stood by us, and cheered us, they believed we could do it.
“The second leg will not be easy. We will work on our weak points and hope to score more goals. By the grace of God, we will qualify for the next round. ”
Enyimba players have been given a day off before they resume training for the second leg on Tuesday.
