Published: May 16, 2015
Former USA youth international Amobi Okugo has played down reports linking him with a move to Fiorentina, saying he is focused at Orlando City, whom he joined in the off season.
Calciomercato.com had claimed that representatives of the Italian club will be in America this July to run the rule over the Orlando City defensive midfielder with a view to a summer transfer.
“It’s always been a goal of mine. But right now I’m focused on Orlando, ” says Okugo to mlssoccer.com.
“Coming into the season there was a possibility of me going to Europe, but the situation here in Orlando is top class.
“I’d like to keep doing thing here, and if I do well, hopefully the rumors continue.”
Orlando general manager Paul McDonough has dismissed the reports from Italy, adding that Fiorentina and their reps are yet to approach the club directly.
