Published: June 17, 2015
The Sporting Director of Kalmar, Thomas Andersson, has stressed that the Swedish Premier League club have an agreement with Seyi Olofinjana’s Imperial Soccer Academy amid interest from Esperance, Red Bull Salzburg and Porto.
The Nigeria youth international is expected to sign a professional contract with Kalmar on or before the next eight weeks based on the agreement reached with Seyi Olofinjana.
“It is true that we have a letter of intent with Imperial but more than that I can not say it right now, I can not go into details,” Thomas Andersson told 24kalmar.se.
“It is more or less the same position as the last six months. Sure, the rumored big club after big club around Taiwo and we do not know what is real or not but we live in hope.
“We have full respect for the decision Taiwo will take but we still hope that he will take his first steps in Europe with us in Kalmar, we still have a good relationship with him.”
Kalmar are in contact with the Nigeria Football Federation and it is understood that they have hired a sports lawyer to fight their cause if Imperial Academy fail to honour the agreement both parties signed.
