Exclusive : Afcon Hero Sunday Mba Agrees To Join Boavista
Published: June 24, 2015
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed by sources close to the situation that Sunday Mba is heading to Portuguese Primeira Liga side Boavista in the summer transfer market.
Boavista are eager to bolster their ranks with an attacking midfielder in the mould of Mba and have reignited their interest in the Nigeria international after failing to strike a deal with CA Bastia in the January transfer window.
At that time, the French club demanded €400,000, but the former Warri Wolves star is now a free agent, meaning he will be arriving the Estádio do Bessa at zero - cost.
It is understood that United Kingdom - based agent Tony Harris recommended Sunday Mba to Boavista and negotiations are at an advanced stage, with the imminent signing of the 2013 African Cup of Nations hero to be announced in a matter of days.
Nigeria internationals Uche Nwofor, Reuben Gabriel and Michael Uchebo are on the payroll of Boavista, and it is assumed at this stage that one of the trio will leave the club before the start of next season.
