Obafemi Martins Delighted To Make MLS Team Of The Week
Published: August 19, 2015
Seattle Sounders star Obafemi Martins was pleased to be named to the MLS Team of the Week on his return to action after spending two months on the sidelines.
The CenturyLink Field outfit struggled without their Nigerian striker in the line - up, garnering a paltry three points from a possible 24, but they returned to winning ways on Sunday after thrashing Orlando City 4 - 0, with Martins netting a brace.
“Appreciate being named to MLS team of the week. All credit to team & supporters. Very pleased to be back on the pitch, ” Obafemi Martins posted on Twitter.
Despite his injury - enforced absence, Obafemi Martins is the highest goalscorer at his club, having scored 9 goals from 12 matches.
And he will be hoping to add to that tally when Seattle Sounders return to action this weekend against Boyd Okwuonu’s Real Salt Lake
