Heartland FC players David Obiazor and Nelson Ogbonnaya will not be
selected in the final 23 - man squad for an African Cup of Nations
qualifier against Tanzania, the NFF has confirmed through its official
website, thenff.com.
Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh excused both from camp after they succumbed to injuries, and he is now seeking to replace the duo with fresh call - ups.
“The players are nursing injuries and after thorough examination by the Super Eagles medics, it was agreed that it is best to allow them some time to rest and return to their clubs,” a team official disclosed.
“Coach Oliseh will call up replacements for the duo very soon.”
Meanwhile, the invited home - based players will continue their preparations for the clash in Dar es Salaam with two training sessions scheduled to take place at the Abuja National Stadium.
