Godfrey Oboabona Still Expected In Belgium Before Cameroon Friendly
Published: October 09, 2015
Sunday Oliseh is hopeful that Rizespor stopper Godfrey Oboabona will join the Super Eagles squad in Belgium before they tackle Cameroon in Brussels in their last friendly game.
As at Thursday night, the central defender was yet to get positive feedback from the Belgian embassy in Turkey after submitting his passport more than two weeks ago.
“I really, really hope that Godfrey can get a visa tomorrow (Friday) to come in because we need desperately to have a central defender, at least one playing on Sunday against Cameroon.
“We are building and I must confess that we are getting more and more players and the cohesion is going on well, ” Oliseh stated.
Leon Balogun and William Troost - Ekong were paired together in the center of defense and their ineffectiveness led to the two goals conceded by the Super Eagles in the first half against DRC.
