Chinwendu Ihezuo Shines As Falconets Qualify For Final Round

The Falconets have qualified for the final round of the African qualifying series for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup following their 2 - 0 win over Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday evening at the National Stadium in Abuja.
Thus, Nigeria advanced 4 - 1 on aggregate and will now face South Africa, who beat Zambia 3 - 2 at the Makhulong Stadium today.
The Falconets outplayed their opponents and like the first leg tie two weeks ago Chinwendu Ihezuo was the heroine, netting a brace to add to her solitary strike in Kinshasa.
On seven minutes, the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup top goalscorer opened scoring before she sealed the win with her second goal of the game five minutes out of intermission.
The Fifa U20s will take place in Papua New Guinea next year.
