Obafemi Martins In The Running For MLS Goal of the Year Award

Super Eagles marksman Obafemi Martins’s goal in the away match against Colorado Rapids has made the round of 16 shortlist for the 2015 MLS Goal of the Year Award.
The Seattle Sounders star’s goal in the 73rd minute that made the scoreline 3 - 1 in favour of the visitors has been included in the list along with teammates Clint Dempsey and Marco Pappa.
MLSSoccer will reveal the winner of the accolade on Thursday, December 3 and Martins will win the award for the second straight season if he is chosen.
Over the course of the regular season, the ex Inter Milan and Newcastle man smashed 15 goals, which earned him a recall to the national team after two years in the international wilderness.
The 30 - year - old was in action for 19 minutes in the goalless draw against Swaziland last Friday.
