Foreign Pros Taiwo Awoniyi & Azubuike Okechukwu Join Dream Team In Gambia

Taiwo Awoniyi have expressed their happiness after arriving the Flourish
Wellness Resort camp of the U-23 national team in Gambia.
The defensive midfielder and attacker have both been included in the 21 - man roster for the tournament in Senegal and joined the squad at around 0300 hours on Tuesday.
“Even though I am a little bit tired after playing for my club over the weekend, ” says Okechukwu to thenff.com.
“I still see this national team all up as my little way to say a big thank you to my country for the opportunity given to me in the past has made me become what I am today . ”
Taiwo Awoniyi added : “This is work time, qualifying for the Rio Olympics is non-negotiable as we have no excuse to give Nigerians, that’s why we have to put in our best to get something out of Senegal.”
Awoniyi might be lacking match fitness ahead of the championship as he is yet to feature for FSV Frankfurt since joining the club on loan from Liverpool days before the summer transfer window was shut.
On the other hand, Okechukwu has started 9 games for Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish second - tier and lasted the distance against Kayseri Erciyesspor on Sunday afternoon.
