Iwobi Trains With Arsenal First Team Ahead Of Showdown With Olympiakos
Published: December 08, 2015
Alex Iwobi is in contention to be fielded against Olympiakos on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League.
The Nigeria international was one of the seven youngsters that trained with the Gunners first team at London Colney on Tuesday morning ahead of their trip to Greece to face the Super League champs.
The likes of Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Alexis Sánchez, Danny Welbeck and Santi Cazorla were not on the plane to Greece and there is a strong likelihood that Iwobi will make the 18 - man squad tomorrow night.
If that is the case, it would be his second appearance in the Champions League if he is given a run - out at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
Iwobi featured for six minutes in Arsenal’s 5 - 1 loss to Bayern Munich in the penultimate round.
