Agent Insists Tottenham Hotspur Yet To Make Decision On Musa Yahaya
Published: December 31, 2015
Musa Yahaya’s intermediary, Babawo Mohammed, has reacted to reports that emanated from the local media which claimed that his client was deceived into attending trials with FC Porto.
The Jos - based agent has stressed that only Tottenham Hotspur will decide the next destination of the Nigeria U23 international after failing to get a work permit that will enable him play in the English Premier League.
“The story is not true, nobody took him for trials. He didn’t go for trials with FC Porto,” said Babawo Mohammed to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Tottenham Hotspur are looking for where he will have playing time and have not decided the team he will join in January. They want him to join a smaller team where he’ll get playing opportunities.
“Musa Yahaya is attracting interest from Spain (Celta de Vigo, ed) and other European clubs.”
The 18 - year - old Yahaya was one of the standout players of the Golden Eaglets at the 2013 Fifa Under 17 World Cup, scoring 4 goals in 7 matches as Nigeria won the tourney for a record fourth time.
The Mutunchi Football Academy product was later promoted to Nigeria’s U20 squad before making his debut for the Olympic Team against Congo in July 2015.
