Giwa FC Announce Hiring Of Coach Gbenga Ogunbote

Owner of Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, Giwa fc of Jos, Ambassador Christopher Musa Giwa has contracted ex - Shooting Stars manager, Gbenga Ogunbote, as the Club’s Technical Adviser for one season.
Giwa unveiled the seasoned coach on Friday night during a short colourful ceremony in Jos.
“I am delighted to present to Nigerians one of the best coaches the land can offer as the new manager for Giwa FC.
“I have been following his progress for quite sometime now and believe he is going to take the team to the promise land, ” Giwa said during the unveiling ceremony.
Ogunbote on his part responded to questions from the Press by promising continental football to the fans of the team as well as the Club owner.
Ogunbote, who started his coaching career in 1994 made major headlines after leading Sunshine Stars of Akure to the semifinal of the CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League respectively in 2012 and 2013.
He also effectively executed a rescue mission from relegation waters at Sharks FC of Porthacourt and Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan in 2013 and 2014.
He would be the second high profile manager to manage Giwa after Kadiri Ikhana’s brief stint in 2015.
Giwa FC have only spent two years in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL ,and finished in a respectable fourth place in their only two seasons, missing continental football narrowly.
Ogunbote is starting work with immediate effect.
