Published: February 05, 2016
CEO of Veikkausliiga outfit Kuopion Palloseura, Jarmo Heiskanen, has revealed that Super Eagles defender Azubuike Egwuekwe is still awaiting the outcome of his visa application to the Finnish Embassy.
KuPS have started pre-season training without the former Warri Wolves stopper, who was earlier scheduled to arrive in Northern Savonia by January 31,2016.
“Azubuike is still awaiting his visa. He will travel to Finland right after when he gets it,”KuPS CEO Jarmo Heiskanen told allnigeriasoccer.com.
Azuibuike Egwuekwe and another new signing Gbolahan Salami penned contracts with KuPS after the Nigeria internationals were introduced to the club by an African-based player-agent.
The transfer window officially opens in Finland in a week’s time but the two players are free agents, meaning they can be added to KuPS’ roster at any time.
