Celtic Give Up Their Pursuit Of Chelsea Fullback Ola Aina
Published: April 25, 2016
Scottish champions Celtic have reportedly given up their pursuit of England youth international Ola Aina after failing to meet his wage demands.
The defender runs out of contract with the Londoners at the end of the season and interested teams will not have to pay a transfer fee to acquire him.
The Telegraph says Celtic were shocked to learn that the wages demanded by Aina would have made him the highest paid player at the club if they had granted his request.
The 19-year-old is not lacking suitors in the event that he departs Stamford Bridge, with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool monitoring the situation of the full-back.
The Southwark native joined Chelsea as an Under-11 player and is yet to make his debut for the first team in a competitive match.
