Afro-Russian Defender Oyewole : If You Throw A Banana, I Eat It

FC Gazovik Orenburg defender Adesoye Oyewole says he has never encountered racism in Russia and is happy with all that he has seen in the country football-wise.
The 33-year-old was born in Moscow to a Nigerian dad and a Russian mom, who used to teach Mathematics in a secondary school in Bida ,Niger State.
“I do not think that the problem of racism in Russia is more than in the rest of the world, ” Oyevole told matchtv.ru
“I have rarely come across anything like this. And if I come across it, I’m not worried. If you throw a banana, I eat it, or give my daughter.
“It all depends on the personal relationship of each person. For me, Russian football is all right.”
Able to play as a central defender or defensive midfielder, Oyewole represented FC Zhemchuzhina Sochi, FC Reutov, FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast and FC Sibir Novosibirsk before he signed for Gazovik Orenburg in 2013.
