Japan U23s Striker With Nigerian Roots Onaiwu Makes First Start In Toulon

JEF United striker Ado Onaiwu made his second appearance for the Japanese Olympic squad at the ongoing Toulon Tournament in France.in their 1-0 loss to Portugal on Monday evening.
The 20-year-old started for the Asians at the Stade de Lattre-de-Tassigny, Aubagne unlike the first game where he was introduced in the 52nd minute to operate in attack.
On 22 minutes, Horta scored from a powerful volley for Portugal after a deflection by Ribeiro.
Ado Onaiwu was in action for 65 minutes before making way for Togashi.
The Japan U23s, who are in the same group with Nigeria at the Olympic Games, return to action on Wednesday when they face Guinea at the Stade Antoine Baptiste, Six-Fours-les-Plages.
