Lillestrom Continue To Check On The Fitness Of Super Eagles Striker Chinedu Obasi
Published: May 27, 2016
Lillestrom coach Rúnar Kristinsson continues to run the rule over Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi before making a decision on whether to offer him a short-term contract.
The current sporting director at Lillestrom was a director at Obasi’s first professional club Lyn Oslo during his first stint in Norway and it could be a reunion of sorts if the striker can agree terms with the Canaries.
“We are confident that Chinedu Obasi will be a player of Lillestrom, the sporting director knows him well. He was a director at Lyn Oslo when Obasi played there, ” a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“He is still in Norway. They just want to check if he is fully fit before offering him a contract. ”
With the future of Fred Friday covered in mist, Obasi could replace the ex-Dream Team VI trainee in the event that the much-coveted striker departs the club and he is offered a deal.
The former Hoffenheim star has been searching for a new team after running out of contract at Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
