Why Watford-Bound Isaac Success Was Not Named To Nigeria U23s Provisional Roster
Published: June 25, 2016
Contrary to speculations in the local media, Watford-bound frontman Isaac Success was not one of the players considered to represent Nigeria at the Olympic Games.
There had been rumours that the Granada striker will link up with the squad at their training camp in the United States but it has come to light that he was never approached by Dream Team VI coach Samson Siasia this time around.
An unnamed representative of Isaac Success told allnigeriasoccer.com : “Success was not invited for the Olympic Games, there was no contact with Siasia, and there is no way Granada would have released him due to uncertainties surrounding his future.
“You know what happened during the last Fifa U20 World Cup, we fought hard before they released him and that tournament was on the Fifa calendar. ”
Few weeks before the end of last season, allnigeriasoccer.com was in contact with Granada chiefs and they were quite evasive when asked if Isaac Success will be permitted to represent Nigeria at the Games.
The 20-year-old returned to Andalusia, Spain on Thursday, June 23rd.
