Southampton Teenage Sensation Joshua Debayo Chooses To Represent Nigeria Ahead Of England

Southampton young star Joshua Debayo has committed his international future to Nigeria ahead of England, and is eager to represent one of the youth teams of the African powerhouse.
Born in London 19 years ago to a Nigerian dad, the central defender has not been called up to any of England youth teams, meaning the Nigeria Football Federation won’t need to process any paperwork before he plays for the national teams.
Team Nigeria UK boss David Doherty told allnigeriasoccer.com : “Joshua Debayo is a top player with great potential to excel big and he is available for Nigeria. Yes, he has had pledged his future to Nigeria ahead of England.
“If he is called up to the U20, U23 or Super Eagles, it will not be a bad experience for him. ”
Debayo began his career with the academy team of Fulham before crossing over to Chelsea, then joined Southampton in 2013.
