Charlton Athletic GK Suffers Training Ground Injury At Nigeria U17s Camp
Published: July 19, 2016
Charlton Athletic shot-stopper Edward Ogbebor-Onaiwu can only resume goalkeeping duties at the Golden Eaglets get-together in Abuja next week after picking up an injury in his first training session with the team on Monday.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Ogbebor-Onaiwu’s finger popped out of place when a player trod on it.
Coach Manu Garba was due to run the rule over the 15-year-old in a practice game on Wednesday, but he has been ruled out of the scrimmage because of his swollen finger.
The Addicks youth-teamer will remain with the squad nonetheless, maintaining his fitness by stretching and running and will also be involved in possession drills but will not be in between the pipes.
Another foreign-based youngster, who plays in Germany, is only training with the Golden Eaglets team while on holiday and has no plans to be part of the camp at the moment.
