Kelechi Iheanacho Not Included In Man City 32-Man Pool For Pre-Season Games
Published: July 19, 2016
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has omitted Nigeria national-teamer Kelechi Iheanacho from his 32-man roster for pre-season games in Germany and China.
Manchester Evening News has suggested that the Taye Academy product was left out of the squad for the time being as a result of a visa hitch.
And it has been speculated that Iheanacho will be added to City’s roster before their friendly games against Manchester United (July 25) and Borussia Dortmund (July 28) in China.
The Spanish manager will run the rule over England youth international of Nigerian descent Tosin Adarabioyo during the tour as he is among the twelve players from the Academy that made the squad list.
Iheanacho has been included in Nigeria’s 35-man provisional roster for the Olympic Games next month, but is unlikely to feature in Brazil, with Man City insisting that he should remain at the club during pre-season.
