Ejaria Remains Crocked; Ojo On Song As Liverpool Lose To Roma
Published: August 02, 2016
Liverpool were beaten 2-1 in their final game of their tour of the United States, losing 2-1 to Italian opponents AS Roma at the Busch Stadium (St. Louis, Missouri) on Tuesday morning.
For the second straight game, former Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria did not make the Reds starting line-up, with reports suggesting that he faces a spell on the sidelines due to a groin injury.
As for Roma, injured Nura Abdullahi is back in Nigeria undergoing rehabilitation, while Sadiq Umar is with Nigeria’s Olympic team in the United States, so both were not involved.
England U19 international Sheyi Ojo started and played the first half of the contest, and restored parity for the English team in the first minute of stoppage time, nodding home from James Milner’s cross.
On 35 minutes, Ojo picked up a yellow card for a foul on Stephan El Shaarawy.
Former Manchester City striker Dzeko and Egypt star Mohamed Salah were on target for the The Yellow and Reds.
