Published: August 03, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the Nigeria U23s players are not adequately prepared for their Olympic Games opener against Japan at the Amazonian city of Manaus on Thursday, August 4.
The squad did not train again on Tuesday, with uncertainties surrounding the exact time and date they will depart their training camp in Atlanta.
The Samson Siasia-led side first skipped their workout on Thursday, before cancelling training sessions on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s first opponents in Rio, Asian champions Japan, are in good shape and recently tackled strong opponents Brazil to prepare them for their meeting against the Dream Team.
Colombia and Sweden are the other opponents Nigeria will face in the group stage of the Olympic Games.
