Siasia Warns Nigeria Have To Be Careful In Defense Against Sweden
Published: August 07, 2016
Nigeria U23s coach Samson Siasia has admitted there were defensive frailties in his side’s opening game at the Olympic Games against Asian champions Japan on Thursday.
With Oghenekaro Etebo netting his fourth goal in the 66th minute, the Dream Team VI thought they were home and dry but were wrong, with the opponents scoring twice to reduce the deficit to 5-4.
“Let’s make corrections . Let’s be organized so we can do an even better performance in the field. We have to win the next game, like all the games, ” Samson Siasia told reporters at Saturday’s press conference.
“We made many mistakes in the defense sector , and we have to be careful with it.”
The game between Nigeria and Sweden kickoffs at 2300 hours Nigerian time on Sunday.
