Ahmed Musa Shows Off His Key Attribute As Leicester City Suffer Defeat To Man Utd
Published: August 07, 2016
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri handed Ahmed Musa his competitive debut as the Premier League champions were narrowly beaten 2-1 by FA Cup holders Manchester United in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon.
With Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki starting in attack for the Foxes, it meant the former CSKA Moscow man dropped to the bench for the game at Wembley Stadium.
The scoreboard was reading 1-0 in favour of the Old Trafford side, thanks to Jesse Lingard’s goal, when Musa entered into the fray at the start of the second half.
The Nigeria international looked lively on his debut, using his pace and trickery to get past the Manchester United defense and created a couple of chances for his teammates.
On 81 minutes, Musa was presented with a glorious opportunity to open his account, but headed just over with his back to goal.
England international Jamie Vardy restored parity for Leicester City six minutes out of intermission before Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the game-winner with seven minutes remaining.
