Chelsea Star Mikel Wants To Avoid Facing Neymar And Co In Quarterfinals

Speaking at a press conference after Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Sweden at the Olympic Games, Chelsea star Mikel is mindful of the fact they might face hosts Brazil in the quarterfinals of the competition.
And the Dream Team VI skipper has suggested that it would be better to avoid Brazil, adding that they have their eyes fixed on the next match against Colombia before thinking of their opponents in the knockout rounds.
“It is good to avoid the home team , of course , but we will be attentive to the next game. Then we think of Brazil, ” Mikel told reporters, according to the online edition of TV Globo.
“If there is a chance to play with them? Yes of course. Very possible but let’s think of a game at a time . Then you think about it.”
Barcelona pair Neymar and Rafinha, and Marquinhos of Paris Saint-Germain are in the Brazilian roster for the Olympic Games, and were all involved in the goalless draws with South Africa and Iraq.
Of the four meetings between Nigeria and Brazil at the Olympic Games, the Africans won one, drew one and lost twice.
