Colombia Coach Admits : Nigeria Is Well Organized And With Good Players
Published: August 10, 2016
Colombia U23 coach Carlos Restrepo has heaped praise on the Nigerian team ahead of Wednesday’s meeting at Corinthians Arena, Sao Paulo.
Win, lose or draw, the Nigeria U23s have already advanced to the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games, while the South Americans, who have garnered two points, need an outright win to progress.
“Trying to improve for us is important if we are to achieve the goal, we have to do in relation to the match with Japan , ” Restrepo told reporters at Tuesday’s press conference.
“If we do, we can hope to advance. If not, it will be difficult. The three teams in the group are very strong. Japan is the most prepared.
“Nigeria is the same. Nigeria is very well organized and with good players. ”
In the only meeting between the two countries at previous Olympic Games, Colombia beat Nigeria 1-0 at Moscow 1980.
