Published: August 12, 2016
Tottenham Hotspur have announced their squad number list for the 2016-2017 season, ahead of their Premier League opener against Everton.
There are no changes regarding the shirt numbers worn by the two players of Nigerian descent last term.
Therefore, Dele Alli retains his number 20 shirt, while Josh Onomah will wear the number 25 jersey, but the Three Lions midfielder has opted to have his first name printed on his match shirts instead of his surname.
“I wanted a name on my shirt that represented who I am and I feel I have no connection with the Alli surname, ” Alli explained to the official website of Spurs.
“This is not a decision I have taken without a lot of thought and discussion with family close to me.”
