Nigeria Coach Siasia Not Worried About Facing Neymar And Co In Final
Published: August 14, 2016
Speaking at a press conference shortly after Nigeria secured a place in the last four of the 2016 Olympic Games, coach Samson Siasia has revealed that his players are not scared of facing Brazil in the showpiece game if they overcome Germany in the semifinals.
The Dream Team defeated Denmark 2-0 at Arena Fonte Nova on Saturday night, with skipper Obi Mikel and Umar Aminu finding the back of the net, their first goals in the competition.
“We saw what they (Brazilian players) did with Denmark. On the bright side, they did not start the tournament well, but the important thing is how you end, ” Samson Siasia told reporters.
“They have a good team and it is not easy to make four goals in Denmark. ”
He added : “I’m not worried about Brazil, because they still have a game. We will try to make a good game.
“Of course I want the gold, since we got so far. We will do everything we can to win the gold medal.”
The Dream Team beat Brazil 4-3 in the semifinals at Atlanta 1996 after a golden goal in extra time by ex-Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu.
