Siasia Criticizes Nigeria U23s Preparations For Olympic Games
Published: August 15, 2016
Speaking at a press conference, Dream Team coach Samson Siasia has criticized Nigeria’s preparations for the Olympic Games.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria delegation arrived in Manaus barely seven hours to their opening game against Japan, but still managed to defeat the Asian champions 5-4.
“It is a problem we have not only in Nigeria but in other countries. African countries need to be better structured. ” Siasia told reporters, according to TV Globo.
“Our problem is not having good teams, but not being able to prepare ourselves as the other teams.”
Nigeria U23s trip to Brazil from Atlanta, where they held a get-together, was postponed three times due to difficulties encountered by the Nigerian Federation and Sports Ministry in the payment for a chartered flight.
