Argentinian Referee Pitana Assigned To Officiate Nigeria Semifinal Tie Against Germany

Argentinian referee Néstor Fabián Pitana will officiate the Rio 2016 semifinal tie between Nigeria and Germany at Arena Corinthians, São Paulo on Wednesday, August 17.
Fifa has also appointed Hernán Maidana and Juan Pablo Belatti as the assistant referees, while the fourth official is Antonio Mateu Lahoz, who is a Spaniard.
Born in Corpus, Misiones, Argentina, Pitana was assigned to officiate four matches at the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
The 41-year-old is known to hand out cards during matches, with 1,451 yellow cards and 94 red cards issued in 299 games.
He speaks Spanish and is a Gymnastics teacher.
