Nigerian Defender Floating After Making Competitive Debut For Chelsea
Published: August 25, 2016
Nigerian defender Ola Aina has expressed his happiness at making his competitive debut for Chelsea in their Football League Cup clash against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old was thrown into the starting XI and impressed until the 77th minute when he had to be replaced after picking up an injury.
“It is the best feeling to be there in front of the fans, it is a team I have supported from three years old so it is a dream come true.
“I wasn’t nervous, I was just excited, ”Ola Aina told Chelsea’s official website.
Only five players clocked up more game time than Ola Aina during pre-season training, a clear signal that the stopper is in the plans of manager Antonio Conte in the new season.
