Dad Hints Iheanacho Pulled His Muscle As Man City Striker Plays Down Injury

Kelechi Iheanacho’s father, James Iheanacho, has strongly hinted that the Manchester City talent pulled a muscle in Wednesday night’s Champions League tie against Steaua Bucharest.
In the closing minutes of the encounter at the Etihad Stadium, the Super Eagle was stretchered off after picking up an injury.
James Iheanacho told allnigeriasoccer.com : “I watched the game, Kelechi pulled his muscle, he was raising his leg before he fell down. That is always the case in football.
“I will talk to him in the afternoon to know more how serious the injury is. ”
Meanwhile, the City number 72 took to social media shortly after the game to play down suggestions that he is doubtful for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania plus the Premier League game with West Ham.
“Great result for the team today. Very pleased we’ve qualified for the #ECL group stages.
“Thank you everyone for your messages. I’m pleased to inform you all that am okay #mcfc.” Iheanacho tweeted.
The 19-year-old Iheanacho was recently rewarded with a new deal after impressing in his debut season with the first team of City.
