TEN Nigerian Young Stars Called Up To England Youth Teams, As U20 Squad Named
Published: August 25, 2016
As many as ten Nigerian talents could represent the England youth teams next month, with Under-20s manager Aidy Boothroyd handing call-ups to four players for next month’s high-profile international friendly against Brazil in Kidderminster.
Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea), Joshua Onomah (Tottenham Hotspur), Tammy Abraham (Bristol City, loan from Chelsea) and Ademola Lookman (Charlton Athletic) will fancy their chances of featuring against the boys from Brazil as the quartet made the 23-man squad.
Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo has been omitted from the roster as a result of an injury he sustained during pre-season.
The five youngsters all helped England qualify for the 2017 Fifa Under 20 World Cup in South Korea.
Aidy Boothroyd’s side face Brazil behind-closed-doors at St. George’s Park on September 1, before both nations meet again at Aggborough Stadium three days later.
