Watford Striker Ighalo Explains Why He Failed To Turn Up In Uyo As Planned
Published: August 29, 2016
Watford striker Odion Ighalo has explained why he has not showed up in Uyo to join his international teammates despite being released by his English Premier League club two days ago.
It has come to light that the former Flying Eagles skipper is already in the country’s commercial capital, Lagos, but could not travel to the Akwa Ibom State capital on Monday as a result of a flight hitch.
“I am not yet in camp, I hope to be there tomorrow. I am in Lagos now, ” Odion Ighalo told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“The Arik Air flight was cancelled and I am disappointed. ”
Ighalo, 27, is expected to play a part on Saturday against Tanzania in Nigeria’s last match in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
