Exclusive: Agent Confirms Omeruo NEVER Played For Standard Liege, Pulled Out Of Deal
Published: September 11, 2016
Kenneth Omeruo’s former agent has confirmed that the Nigeria international was never a player of Standard Liege and only trialed with the Belgian First Division A club before they pulled out of a deal to sign him.
Investigations by allnigeriasoccer.com’s editorial staff reveal that Standard Liege could not meet the 400,000 euros transfer fee wanted by Nigerian club Sunshine Stars.
“Standard Liege have nothing to do with his transfer to Chelsea, they pulled out, ” Omeruo’s ex-intermediary told allnigeriasoccer.com.
It has come to light that Sunshine Stars will pocket five percent of the transfer fee if the central defender is sold by Chelsea before the summer of 2019.
The 22-year-old penned a one-year contract extension before he was farmed out on loan to Turkish Super Lig side Alanyaspor in August.
