Belgian First Division A club KAA Gent have confirmed that scouts representing several European clubs attended their Europa League clash with Sporting Braga on Thursday.
Nigeria internationals Moses Simon and Anderson Esiti featured in the game, with the winger replaced just before half time after picking up what appears to be a hamstring complaint.
Aside representatives of Manchester United and Arsenal, Premier League quartet West Ham, Manchester City, West Brom and Southampton were on a scouting mission to run the rule over both Nigerians and the rest of the players in action.
City’s European scouting consultant Ruben Mato, Senior Recruitment Officer at Southampton Bill Green, West Brom’s top scout Mike Trusson and West Ham’s scout Emerson Thome monitored developments at Estádio Municipal de Braga.
Moses Simon, 21, is tied to Gent until the summer of 2019 while Esiti’s deal run outs a year later, having penned a four-year contract before the close of the summer transfer window.
